LITERATURE

Below are the books, journals and articles I collected over the years. Most of them are rather old, but are nevertheless very usefull. One book worth mentioning is Bestimmungstabellen der Gallen (Zoo- und Phytocecidien) an Pflanzen Mittel- und Nordeuropas by Buhr. This is available at Koeltz Scientific Books (www.koeltz.com). 'Les galles de France', by Dauphin & Aniotsbehère (1997) is also a beautiful book with keys, once you understand most of the French 'code' words that are used. Up to date keys are not available for the Netherlands at the moment, but luckily they are available sometimes at second hand book stores, and sometimes articles are written about some gall inducing organism or group of gall makers.

For copy of the second edition of the Gallenboek by Docters van Leeuwen you can go to Antiquariaat Kok in Amsterdam (http://www.nvva.nl/kok/). A print of Britisch Plant Galls by Redfern & Shirley & Bloxham you can order from FSI or from some of the book stores in the Netherlands. The book shop of Naturalis in Leiden also has this book for sale. Some members of the British Plant Galls Society recently published some interesting books: The Natural History of the Rose Bedeguar Gall and its Insect Community, by Simon Randolph & Oak-galls in Britain, by Robin Willams. The first can be obtained from Peter Shirley, 72 Dagger Lane, West Bromwich, B71 4BS, UK, £ 9,50 plus costs for packing and postage. The latter book is printed directly from the computer by Robin Willams, Kyntons Mead, Heath House, Wedmore, Sommerset, BS28 4UQ, UK. Appart from this, there is a book published in the US with a review of the state of knowledge: Biology, Ecology and Evolution of Gall-inducing Arthropods, by Anantanarayanan Raman, Carl W. Schaefer and Toni M. Withers. Het boek is uitgegeven door Science Publishers, Inc., Enfield, New Hampshire, USA. 2005. http://www.scipub.net. Volume 1, pp i-xxi and 1-429: Volume 2, pp i-xxi and 431-817. $148. Duur dus!!
